Shanling SCD3.3
Combining our unique SACD reading capabilities with the 2nd generation of R2R DAC and adding in a classic tube audio output, representing the Ultimate Level of Audio Source for the most demanding Hi-Fi setups!
A Disc Player That Does Justice to SACD
At its foundation is Shanling’s proprietary HD850 top-loading disc mechanism, purpose-built for both SACD (including hybrid discs) and standard CD playback. What makes this special is the FPGA-assisted I2S output with 10 selectable pinout modes, which means your SACDs can be output as true native DSD64 to virtually any external DAC with an I2S input. You also get DoP DSD64 over coaxial SPDIF, plus full 4x unfolding of MQA-CDs. Layer switching between CD and SACD is smooth and automatic.
Second-Generation R2R Conversion
Rather than using an off-the-shelf DAC chip, Shanling developed their own second-generation R2R DAC system built around 212 ultra-precision resistors (0.0001% tolerance). The 24-bit module uses a 19-bit resistor ladder with 4-bit compensation in a push-pull differential circuit architecture. The result is a sound that is naturally rich, smooth, and detailed in a way that chip-based DACs rarely achieve — music just flows.
Tubes Done Right
The analog output stage is driven by a matched pair of 12AT7 tubes, designed by Dr. Cai Hongren. Both the RCA and XLR outputs benefit from the tube amplification stage, adding that classic warmth and dimensional quality that Shanling has been known for. These are not decoration — they are integral to the sound signature.
